TAIHO JUTSU
United States Taiho Jutsu (USTJ), also known as Defensive Tactics (DT), is an integrated system of certain physical and mental confrontation techniques and procedures directed toward the liability & safety of law enforcement officers / military personnel / martial artists and the departments or organizations in which they are employed / assigned / affiliated.
The United States Ju-Jitsu Federation (USJJF) have devised a program, which is both simple and effective. The ultimate objective of this martial art program is to furnish officers with the necessary "tools" which s/he can utilize in those situations, which threaten his/her physical well-being or responsibilities.
The content of this system is not meant to encompass the entire spectrum of physical and verbal confrontation techniques. To the contrary, it contains a limited number of techniques and procedures, which have been tested and used in the field It is our goal to share information and training, so that all law enforcement agencies can provide its officers with tactics that are court defensible, easily learned and builds confidence in individuals’ skills.
In addition, this program will provide a wide range of responses to a variety of contacts and confrontations. It should be noted however, that the tactics and techniques available to officers do not stop at the end at the conclusion of this course. The USTJ/DT system, as set forth is meant to furnish officers & martial artists with the ability to function as a multifaceted unit where all the techniques and procedures are integrated both mentally and mechanically.
The program further attempts to impart to the officers a thorough understanding of team arrest procedures, above and beyond the necessary physical ability of effective application. This understanding is necessary to make the officers capable of functioning effectively at all levels of the use of force continuum and in the various situational scenarios.
